Angle Drill Heads are coolant driven.

Press Release Summary:

Driven by high-pressure 300-1,500 psi coolant, custom drill heads machine at any angle from 90-0° and do not require spindle rotation for power. Where multi-position machining is required, spindle can function as indexer, eliminating need for multiple mechanically driven heads or parts indexers. Capable of speeds to 13,500 rpm and output to 1.5 hp, heads are available in 3 sizes and can machine radially in cavities as small as 1 in. in diameter.

Custom Angle Heads

Drill heads capable of machining at any angle from 90-degrees to 0-degrees are now available from Eltool Corporation. Unlike mechanical heads, Eltool Angle Heads are driven by high pressure coolant (300-1500 psi) and do not require spindle rotation for power. Where multi-position machining is required, the spindle can function as an indexer, eliminating the need for multiple mechanically driven heads or parts indexers.

The heads are available in three standard sizes and all popular shank styles. They load easily from the ATC, and can machine radially in cavities as small as 1" in diameter. They are capable of speeds to 13500 rpm and output to l.5 horsepower. Typical applications include milling oil grooves in bushings, drilling bleeder holes in door closers, and milling keyways in gears, hubs, and sheaves.
