Andes Coil Processors - Plans for Additional Slitting Capability

LEWISVILLE, Texas – Andes Coil Processors LLC announced today that its Lewisville toll processing facility will increase its slitting capability with the addition of a .250" x 60" Loopco slitter.

The slitter, which will be installed by the end of October 2013, expands the Lewisville location's maximum slitting capability from .135" to .250".

"The market is showing a stronger interest in localized processing," said General Manager Shaun Pressly. "Logistical costs and the benefit of local relationships have been the main drivers. This trend fulfills both the modern need for lower landed cost and the timeless desire to conduct business with someone who lives in your community and cares about the health of your business."

This is Andes' second substantial move this year as the company opened a toll processing unit in March in Gary, IN.  As a toll processor, Andes does not own steel but rather provides processing and logistical services to their customers.
