Analog-to-Digital Converters suit multi-detector experiments.

Press Release Summary:

Model 4418Q integrates charge in pulse, and is optimum for direct connection to anode of photomultiplier tube. Model 4418V accommodates pulse-amplitude measurements on pulses from nuclear spectroscopy amplifier. Arrival times of events relative to common Start pulse can be digitized by Model 4418T. All three 12-bit ADCs feature 8 identical inputs with CAMAC and fast FERAbus readout.

Original Press Release:

NEW 8-Input CAMAC/FERAbus ADCs feature Charge, Pulse-Height, or Arrival-Time Measurement and Fast Readout for Multi-Detector Experiments

NEW from ORTEC, these three 12-bit ADCs are ideal for measurements with multiple scintillation or charged-particle detectors. Each of the three features 8 identical inputs with CAMAC and fast FERAbus 1 readout. The Model 4418Q integrates the charge in a pulse, and is optimum for direct connection to the anode of a photomultiplier tube. Pulse-amplitude measurements on the pulses from a nuclear spectroscopy amplifier are accommodated by the Model 4418V. Arrival times of events relative to a common Start pulse can be digitized by the Model 4418T. The models 4418Q, V and T are excellent companions to the ORTEC AD413A and AD114 CAMAC/FERAbus ADCs for HPGe detectors. The fast FERAbus readout is particularly efficient in coincidence experiments with a large number of detectors, because the readout chain can skip ADCs with no information in 3 ns, while sequentially reading out all ADCs with valid events.
