Original Press Release:

14-Bit, 25Msps ADC Guaranteed for 125°C High Temperature Applications

MILPITAS, CA - June 19, 2007 - Linear Technology announces the LTC2246H, a 25Msps,
14-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) for high temperature, high reliability data acquisition systems. The LTC2246H, guaranteed for operation across the -40oC to 125oC temperature range, satisfies the high temperature demands of automotive and military applications. Additionally, the LTC2246H is offered in a leaded package, allowing for easier inspection of solder joints in manufacturing. This high speed ADC is targeted for collision avoidance radar (CAR) automotive systems.

At 14 bits, 25Msps, the LTC2246H consumes only 75mW, and provides excellent 74.5dB signal to noise ratio (SNR) and 90dBc spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) baseband performance. The LTC2246H is packaged in a small 5mm x 5mm TQFP package with integrated bypass capacitors, requiring only a small number of external components for more compact, cost effective designs.

For lower resolution requirements, Linear Technology is also offering the pin-compatible 12-bit 25Msps LTC2226H. Pricing for the H-grade (-40oC to 125oC) LTC2226H and LTC2246H is $10.80 and $18.00, respectively, each in 1,000 piece quantities.
