Analog Switches target medical ultrasound applications.

Press Release Summary:

Models HV2631 and HV2731 high-voltage, 16-channel analog switches deliver high resolution imaging in medical ultrasound applications and also suit non-destructive testing applications. The outputs of both ICs are configured as 2 sets of 8 SPST analog switches that feature low typical on-resistance of 22 W, minimizing signal attenuation in receive mode and providing 2 A current capability in transmit mode. Switches are available in 28-lead LQFP packages.

New Sixteen-Channel, Analog Switches Deliver High-Resolution Imaging in Medical Ultrasound Applications

HV2631 and HV2731 Provide Efficient Control of High Voltage Analog Signals

SUNNYVALE, Calif., December 18, 2007- Supertex (NasdaqGS: SUPX), a recognized leader
in high voltage analog and mixed signal integrated circuits (ICs), today introduced two new high voltage, sixteen-channel analog switches-HV2631 and HV2731. These ICs further enhance Supertex's position in the growing market for medical ultrasound diagnostic imaging equipment as well as in the market for non-destructive testing applications.

The outputs of both ICs are configured as two sets of eight single pole, single throw,
analog switches that feature low typical on-resistance of 22 ohms. This low switch resistance minimizes signal attenuation in the receive mode and provides two amp current capability in the transmit mode. They can be used with multiple combinations of high voltage supplies to accommodate different operating modes in diagnostic medical ultrasound imaging. The HV2731 also features integrated bleed resistors to discharge residual DC voltages and reduce erroneous signals.

"The HV2631 and HV2731 represent the next generation of high voltage, analog switches
leveraging Supertex's proprietary HVCMOS technology" states Ahmed Masood, Vice President of Marketing for Supertex. "With their dual banks of eight switches, these ICs eliminate the need for independent switch control in applications that require simultaneous scanning of multiple groups of transducers, resulting in simplified architecture and improved response time and system performance."

The HV2631 and the HV2731 are available in 48-lead LQFP packages (HV2631FG-G and HV2731FG-G). All parts are Green and RoHS compliant. Samples are available from
stock. Lead-time for production quantities is 4-6 weeks ARO. Pricing is US$14.75 each for the HV2631FG-G and US$14.95 each for the HV2731FG-G, both in 1K quantities.
