Supertex's New Eight Channel, High Voltage, Analog Switches Feature Low Quiescent Power Dissipation

HV2201 and HV2301 Utilize HVCMOS Technology for High Performance

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 21, 2006- Supertex (NASDAQ: SUPX), a recognized leader in high voltage analog and mixed signal integrated circuits (ICs), today introduced the HV2201 and the HV2301, two new low charge injection, eight channel, high voltage analog switch ICs. These ICs feature robust latch-up protection and a very low quiescent current of 10uA, which results in better operating efficiency in applications that require high voltage analog switching controlled by low voltage signals, such as medical ultrasound imaging, non-destructive metal-flaw detection, and other piezoelectric transducer driving. Additionally, the HV2301 features integrated bleed resistors that not only minimize noise but also reduce PCB spacing requirements.

Additional features include 22 ohm switch resistance that minimizes return signal attenuation, serial shift register control to reduce I/O connections, and up to 200V operating voltage for higher transmit voltages and deeper imaging capability. The devices combine high voltage bilateral DMOS switches and low power CMOS logic to provide efficient control of high voltage analog signals.

"Supertex has leveraged its leadership in developing fast and efficient high voltage analog switching technologies to bring the HV2201 and HV2301 to market," states Ahmed Masood, Vice President of Marketing for Supertex. "These ICs provide ideal solutions for medical ultrasound imaging applications and other applications that require piezoelectric transducers."

The HV2201 and the HV2301 are available in 28 pin PLCC, 32 pin BCC, and 48 pin TQFP packages (HV2201PJ-G, HV2301PJ-G, HV2201B1-G, HV2301B1-G, HV2201FG-G, and HV2301FG-G, respectively). All parts are Green and RoHS compliant. Samples are available from stock. Lead-time for production quantities is 4-6 weeks ARO. Pricing is US$10.11 each for the HV2201PJ-G, US$10.61 for the HV2301PJ-G, US$12.33 each for the HV2201B1-G, US$12.95 each for the HV2301B1-G, US$11.12 each for the HV2201FG-G, and US$11.68 each for the HV2301FG-G, all in 1K quantities.
