RPC632 High Speed Analog Input and Digital I/O Card for PC/104

The versatile 500 kHz throughput card has 32 Analog Inputs and 20 Digital I/O with simultaneous samples in two different channels.

Springville, Utah - The RPC632 from Robotrol Corporation contains 32 analog-to-digital inputs and 20 digital I/O with many versatile programmable modes.

The analog input section takes simultaneous samples in two different channels. The analog inputs have 12 bit resolution and may operate as 32 single-ended inputs or 16 differential inputs with each input protected to +-32 volts. The input section has two separate instrumentation amplifiers with resistor programmable gain and two A/D converters with sampling inputs. Full scale voltages (unipolar or bipolar) from 25 millivolts to 10 volts may be easily set in each amplifier. A/D conversions may be controlled in the following ways: random channel single conversions per command, a single conversion per command with auto increment, continuous conversions in a single channel, continuous conversions with auto increment or by external trigger. Conversion intervals may be programmed from 4 microseconds to 64 milliseconds. Four to 20 ma current loops are available as an option.

The 20 digital I/O can be individually programmed to be either inputs or outputs. After a power-on-reset or software reset all I/O are configured as inputs. I/O may be configured as outputs by writing "ones" to the corresponding bits in the Digital I/O Direction Register.

The RPC632 has the following programmable features: data transfer width (8 or 16 bits), interrupt enable, external trigger enable, auto increment enable, continuous conversion enable, maximum channel number for auto increment, conversion interval (4 microseconds to 64 milliseconds), two's complement or straight binary A/D data, digital I/O direction, and software reset.
