Tyco Electronics Introduces Low Cost, Compact Single-Channel C-Band EDFA
Harrisburg, PA, March 24, 2003 - Tyco Electronics' today introduces a low cost, compact (90 x 70 x 12 mm), Single-Channel C-Band Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA). This amplifier is available as a cooled or coolerless gain block with integrated control electronics that includes a built-in laser and TEC driver circuit with alarms and monitors.
The high gain profile and low noise figure enables its use as a Pre, Inline, or Booster amplifier for metro and long haul applications. It is capable of signal gains up to 35 dBm with a noise figure of less than 4.5 dB and total output power of up to +10 dBm.
The electrical interface and included software bundle is designed for control, ease of use, integration and/or evaluation in your laboratory.
