Ametherm Offers Full Lineup of REACH-Compliant Inrush Current Limiters and NTC Thermistors

CARSON CITY, Nev. — As part of Ametherm's commitment to the environment, the company today announced that its entire lineup of inrush current limiters and NTC thermistors conforms to the requirements of the European Union's Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation.

Taking effect in 2007, REACH was adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry. It also promotes alternative methods for the hazard assessment of substances in order to reduce animal testing.

As a REACH-compliant manufacturer, Ametherm's products contain none of the chemicals on the Candidate List of 155 Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), which was last updated on June 16, 2014, by the European Chemical Agency (ECHA). For more information on these SVHCs, please visit http://echa.europa.eu/candidate-list-table.

"We are proud to only offer REACH-compliant products," said Mehdi Samii, vice president of engineering at Ametherm. "Not only does it demonstrate our dedication to conducting an environmentally responsible business, but it helps our customers remain environmentally responsible as well."

Made in the U.S.A., Ametherm products are recognized by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA International) for ensured safety, and many are RoHS-2 certified (with Exemption 7a and 7(c)-1). The devices are optimized for a wide range of applications, including AC motors, power supplies, motor drives, audio amplifiers, battery chargers, air sensors, HVAC systems, high-speed computers, MRIs, and X-ray machines.
