Ametek Ameron Receives FAA-PMA Approval for Water Portable Fire Extinguisher Syphon Tube Strainer Assembly
Baldwin Park, CA (Jan. 29, 2021) – AMETEK AMERON has recently achieved PMA approval on the Syphon Tube Strainer Assembly M802297. The Syphon Tube-Strainer Assembly is designed to be a direct replacement for OEM Syphon Tube-Strainer Assembly P/N 802297 used in the P/N 892480 OEM Water Portable Fire Extinguisher, which is installed on various aircraft models. The handheld fire extinguisher is stored in the flight crew overhead luggage compartment as well as mounted on Class dividers in the passenger cabin.
The Syphon Tube-Strainer is used to deliver a liquid agent from a portable fire extinguisher in the event of a fire. The assembly is comprised of a rubber tube, wire mesh, strainer ferrule, and a stainless-steel lock wire.
AMETEK AMERON recommends customers replace part number M802297 whenever the 892480 is overhauled or the agent is removed from the bottle. Time between overhaul is recommended every five years.
