American Kuhne, Inc. Supplies Miller EdgeInnovative Extruder, Helping Company Keep Their "Edge"

Ashaway, RI - American Kuhne recently supplied Miller Edge of West Grove, PA with a customized extruder that is designed to pivot 45 degrees about a fixed point to allow for in line or co-extrusion positioning. The Ultra 2.5 inch 24:1 L/D air-cooled extruder included a unique, custom feature that allows them to run it with an inline head or coex-crosshead by pivoting the extruder on specially designed wheels and pivot mechanism. This feature allows Miller Edge to easily and quickly move the extruder in to the correct processing position depending on the downstream being used, greatly improving the flexibility and ease of use of the machine.

As with all American Kuhne extruders the system was completely wet tested under load prior to shipment to allow full drive calibration and programming, tuning of temperature controllers and confirmation of screw performance.

"We enjoy working with American Kuhne because they take the time to listen to our needs and they respond with well engineered and designed solutions," said Kris Tejeswi, Plastics Engineer at Miller Edge. "The machine arrived on time and the start-up was very easy and fast, we had the machine in full production within 2 days of it arriving at our plant."

"We are very pleased with the quality and performance of the machine," he adds. "The sales process was excellent and American Kuhne paid close attention to every detail and when the machine arrived there were no surprises. The machine has run flawlessly since start-up and we are very pleased that we choose American Kuhne as the supplier of this equipment. It's our first extruder from them and we will certainly look to American Kuhne for help with future projects."
