American Fibertek Teams up with American Video Equipment to Deliver Integrated Network Solution

Las Vegas, NV (March 28, 2007) - American Fibertek (AFI), the security industry's leading independent supplier of fiber optic transmission systems for security applications, announces a technology partnership with American Video Equipment (AVE), a leader in POS and ATM to video interfacing. The new alliance combines AFI's innovative V'nes Video Network Enterprise Solution that provides data integration, data channel viewing and report generation capabilities via the company's Pilot Series Management Software System, with hundreds of POS and ATM interfaces developed by AVE.

"AFI's new strategic alliance with AVE leverages the open path functionality of our V'nes Video Network Enterprise Solution by extending its capabilities for any application where POS or ATM systems are used," said Jack Fernandes, President and CEO of AFI.

Through this collaboration with AVE, AFI's Pilot Series Management Software Systems for V'nes can be deployed as a standardized network transmission solution where POS or ATM terminals are integrated with video surveillance systems, and the data and images are recorded remotely on network or digital video recorders.

"The increasing focus on integrated digital technologies is driving demand within the retail and other markets for flexible and product-agnostic interfaces and transmission solutions," said Alex Twyman, President, American Video Equipment. "AFI's V'nes system meets this growing need and enables new scenarios for our customers."

V'nes is the first and only integrated and standardized network transmission system designed specifically for the security marketplace. V'nes delivers extensive networking features and functionality with an open path allowing integration of IP products from other manufacturers' products (cameras, servers, video devices, access control, software, etc.) with any combination of V'nes components and software. Since its launch in September of 2006, V'nes has generated unprecedented interest throughout the industry by providing a unique network transmission solution specifically designed for security and surveillance applications. The system's capabilities embody the definition of "convergence" by encompassing all the functionality and convenience of IP systems technologies into a comprehensive networking solution.

AFI's strength in core fiber technologies, which now also include IP video solutions, allows them to continue to satisfy the most demanding security transmission applications given the intrinsic nature of fiber systems in both analog and IP environments.
