Igus® Introduces New Lightweight Aluminum Shafting
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI (August 29, 2002)-igus inc. introduces new Drylin® S inch-sized aluminum shafting and supported aluminum shafting for use with DryLin® R linear bearings and Iglide® plain bearings.
These new types of anodized aluminum shafting offer high levels of corrosion and wear resistance as well as an overall lighter product. DryLin® S aluminum shafting has a lower coefficient of friction and three times the lifetime of steel when run against the appropriate bearing material.
Aluminum shafts are currently available from stock in nine diameters ranging from 1/4 to 2 inches. Igus® will cut to length per customer requirements.
