Alternative Technology Pharma Signs Agreement to Distribute Innovative PakSense Temperature Monitoring Labels

Creates Complete Cold-Chain Management Solution for the Life Sciences Industry

Laval, Canada - Alternatives Technologie Pharma Inc. (ATP), a Canadian corporation and member of the TCP Family of Companies, today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with PakSense Inc. (PakSense), Boise (Idaho, USA), providing exclusive worldwide distribution rights of PakSense temperature indicators, temperature monitoring labels, and readers for the monitoring of blood, blood products, and vaccines. Moreover,ATP has non-exclusive distribution rights for all market segments in the life sciences industry.

Alternatives Technologie Pharma Inc. will incorporate PakSense alert indicators, BIOmed contact labels, BIOmed wireless labels, and reading devices within its cold-chain monitoring and tracking offering to the life sciences industry. ATP will integrate PakSense's products and solutions under its ATP-ThermoProfile(TM) and ATP-Mirador(TM) monitoring and tracking platforms.

PakSense Labels are a new class of temperature recorder that provides visibility into what happens to products during distribution. They are fundamentally different than traditional recorders available on the market today in many distinct ways. They utilize an innovative temperature sensor that does not require ongoing calibration to maintain accuracy. They also take a surface read of the object to which they are attached, providing a much closer approximation of actual product temperature. Furthermore, their unique flat form factor promotes their use in a variety of scenarios: they can even be mailed back in the postal system for downloading at a central location.

Mr. Jean Bedard, CEO of ATP said "We believe PakSense's technology provides an important added value to our cold-chain monitoring solutions for temperature sensitive life sciences products. PakSense products, coupled with our monitoring and tracking platforms, provides a complete cold-chain management package that will ultimately help the life sciences industry make better quality and safety decisions."
