ALSTOM Selects EmeraChem to Supply Catalyst for Wildcat Point Project

ALSTOM POWER has selected EmeraChem, LLC to supply two catalyst systems for installation at the Wildcat Point project.

Wildcat Point is Old Dominion Electric Cooperative's (ODEC's) natural gas power plant that will be located in Cecil County, Maryland, adjacent to ODEC's existing Rock Springs plant. The power plant will be one of the cleanest natural gas facilities of its size in Maryland and will generate approximately 1,000 megawatts, or enough to power 390,000 homes, in the region annually. The plant is expected to become operational in 2017.

Wildcat Point will provide ODEC's 11 member distribution cooperatives a new source of reliable electricity, including 52,000 members on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

EmeraChem has equipped over 250 combustion turbines with oxidation catalyst, or catalytic emission control systems worldwide and brings top-level scientific knowledge and many years of experience to the project.

"EmeraChem is honored to be working with Alstom Power on the Wildcat Point project," said Steven DeCicco, EmeraChem COO. "Our deep experience in the PowerGen market and scientific expertise will ensure that this plant operates in the cleanest possible way."
