Features solid body construction, ideal for harsh solar-cell applications
Kamp-Lintfort, Germany- May 12, 2011 Almatec®, a premier manufacturer of air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps specializing in plastic pumps with solid housings, is pleased to announce it will be exhibiting at InterSolar 2011 in Booth 5229. The InterSolar show, which is co-located with SEMICON West and one of the premier platforms for promoting the development of business opportunities throughout the North American solar industry, will take place from July 12-14 in San Francisco, CA.
Almatec will be displaying its E-Series AODD pumps at InterSolar. Constructed with superior materials and a solid-block design that promotes reliability and operational efficiency, E-Series pumps are ideal for withstanding the demands of the harsh applications found in solar-cell manufacturing. All E-Series housing and pump components are made with polyethylene (PE) or PTFE, which set the standard in solar-cell applications. PE has a high abrasion-resistance, as much as seven times higher than polypropylene (PP) and 1.6 times higher than steel. This type of durability is important for handling the abrasive silicon carbide slurry of solar cell manufacturing. In addition, the high chemical resistant E-Series pumps constructed with PTFE allows for compatibility with the solar-cell manufacturing process's chemical supply, including acids and caustics, so that the pump's internal parts will not become corroded by abrasive media or dry particles.
E-Series pumps also feature the patented PERSWING P® maintenance-free air-control system. The pumps are self-priming and provide gentle displacement of fluids. Their compact, solid design makes them easy to install and provide unattended operation with long service life. E-Series pumps are easy to start up and also include an integrated muffler. Options such as a screw-on pulsation damper, draining systems, barrier chamber system, diaphragm monitor, stroke counting and flange connection are also available.
