Allscripts Enterprise(TM) Electronic Health Record Receives ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 Certification as 'Complete EHR'

CHICAGO, Nov. 30, 2010 - Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX) announced today that Allscripts Enterprise EHR, Version 11.2 is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on November 24, 2010 by the Drummond Group, an Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB), in accordance with the eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). Additionally, Allscripts Enterprise EHR Version 11.2 Modular is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as an EHR Module on November 24, 2010, in accordance with the eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of HHS.

The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify eligible providers for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more - but not all - of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology.

Allscripts elected to submit Enterprise EHR for certification as both a Complete and Modular EHR to accommodate physician practices that prefer to keep an existing third-party patient portal. Practices can either use the Allscripts Patient Portal embedded within Enterprise EHR v11.2 to demonstrate the patient-connectivity requirements of Meaningful Use, or choose to integrate their third-party portal with Enterprise EHR v11.2 Modular to satisfy the requirement. That third-party portal, however, will be required under ARRA rules to be ARRA certified as an EHR module, otherwise the practice will have to certify the portal themselves - a time-consuming and expensive process.

"This certification of our Enterprise Electronic Health Record for large and academic physician groups is the latest demonstration of the progress we're making towards certifying our full portfolio of acute and ambulatory Electronic Health Records before the end of the year," said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. "By providing both a complete version of Enterprise, as well as a certified EHR Module for those physician practices that prefer not to use the Allscripts patient portal, we're giving our clients the utmost flexibility in their choice of an EHR to fulfill the Meaningful Use requirements of ARRA. Likewise, clients may extend their options by selecting Allscripts Full Patient Portal, which adds a variety of powerful features, including online bill payment, pre-registration, appointment and refill requests, and other important patient focused options."

Allscripts Professional and PeakPractice EHRs, as well as Allscripts ED Emergency Department Information System have each been certified as 2011/2012 compliant. Allscripts Sunrise Enterprise acute care EHR and Allscripts MyWay EHR are expected to be ARRA-certified before the end of the year.
