New Technology Eliminates Bird Nesting

Glendale Heights, IL...OSG Tap & Die, Inc is pleased to introduce our brand new line of HY-PRO® Alloy Taps. These taps are specifically designed to prevent "bird-nesting" in Alloy Steels like 4140 and 8620.

While other taps produce long, stringy chips that become entangled around the tool and spindle, the HY-PRO® Alloy tap utilizes a unique fluting treatment that generates small manageable chips. These smaller chips, combined with the coolant through style of the tap and the 18-degree helix, allow for excellent chip evacuation.

In addition, the HY-PRO® Alloy tap incorporates Vanadium-enriched HSS material for better wear resistance and a multi-layered TiCN coating for improved heat resistance. The eccentric relief of the tap reduces friction and heat as well, thereby extending tool life.
