Alfa Laval Wins SEK 65 Million Functional Food Order in India

Alfa Laval - a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling - has received an order for heat exchangers, various fluid handling and tank cleaning equipment to be used in production of a well-known health drink in India. The order value is about 65 MSEK and delivery is scheduled for 2010 and 2011.

The Alfa Laval heat exchangers, pumps and tank cleaning equipment will be used in production of a malted milk hot drink produced by one of the global leading health care companies. This is Alfa Laval's second order to the plant and with the latest expansion the production capacity will increase substantially.

"We have a leading position on the growing food market in India - a growth driven by improved living standard and thereby the increasing need for processed food," says Lars Renstrom, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group. "Our high quality products enable hygienic food processing which is of major importance for the food safety."
