Alcatel-Lucent to Showcase Its Technology and Services Leadership at CTIA Wireless 2007


ORLANDO, Florida, March 26 - Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced its plans to demonstrate its technology leadership at the upcoming Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA) Wireless 2007 trade show, taking place in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center on March 27-29. The Alcatel-Lucent booth (#1562, hall A3) will feature a wide range of demonstrations and solutions that show customers how the company can help them compete and differentiate in the market place with its comprehensive portfolio of products and solutions and experienced global services team. Visitors to the Alcatel-Lucent booth will see that the newly created company is the operators' strategic partner of choice in their IP network transformation.

DEMONSTRATIONS

Alcatel-Lucent will showcase its innovative technology and leadership in transforming communications with an unmatched wireline and wireless portfolio - W-CDMA and HSPA (HSDPA/HSUPA), CDMA2000® and WiMAX technologies -, a unique offering of convergent applications and expertise in migrating to and building converged networks, and comprehensive network services which address the critical needs of all phases of network and business transformation.

Among a wide range of demonstrations, Alcatel-Lucent features:

o Converged multimedia experience with services such as Interactive
Mobile TV based on CDMA, Unlimited Mobile TV seamlessly combining
unicast and broadcast access, Mobile Advertising as well Multimedia
Content Management and Subscriber Data Management solutions that enable
service delivery.

o Advanced, third-generation (3G) and beyond broadband access
technologies such as WiMAX 802.16e-2005, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision A
and Ultra Mobile Broadband (formerly called CDMA2000 1xEV-DO
Revision C) for CDMA networks, HSUPA and 3G Long Term Evolution (LTE)
for W-CDMA networks, and advanced antenna systems such as Multiple
Input/Multiple Output (MIMO), which eases delivery of multimedia and
bandwidth-hungry services such as Video on Demand.

o New CDMA2000 solutions such as the Alcatel-Lucent CDMA Modular Cell 4.0
Compact (for 700 MHz deployments) - a base station that supports the
specific needs of public safety organizations of state and local
governments by providing secure, priority sensitive access to high-
quality voice and data services - and intelligent antenna solution for
CDMA2000 1X networks, which can increase voice and data capacity
without the need for additional spectrum.

o Full suite of IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) based services that blend
voice, data, video and multimedia capabilities and enable social
networking services, family services, and other community services that
enhance people's lives.

o Leading digital microwave, optical and IP/MPLS transport solutions for
mobile backhaul and backbone - featuring end-to-end IP migration,
bandwidth optimization and traffic aggregation across the entire
infrastructure - as well as unique microwave relocation solutions for
Advanced Wireless Services.

o A series of business, network and services transformation solutions
that will demonstrate Alcatel-Lucent's ability to offer end-to-end
solutions while managing risk and complexities inherent in large-scale
transformation projects, including managed services and network
outsourcing, multivendor maintenance and network support, wireless
transformation services and mobile advertising design studio- an
interactive video advertising application - in an IMS environment.

o A carrier-grade Service Delivery Environment that enables service
providers to substantially reduce the time-to-market for new
application and service roll-outs in addition to significantly reducing
the cost to provision those new applications; and Subscriber Data
Optimization, which will help service providers extract subscriber
information so they can deliver personalized and blended services to
their consumer and enterprise customers.

o There will also be a demonstration of Project Evros, a new innovation
from Alcatel-Lucent's Bell Labs researchers in New Jersey, currently
being incubated within Alcatel-Lucent Ventures. It provides enterprise
IT personnel with the ability to track, monitor, troubleshoot, and
remotely manage laptops even when they are powered off and/or offline.

Alcatel-Lucent is hosting a press breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Eastern Time (US & Canada) on Tuesday, March 27th at the Peabody Hotel (Orlando III room).
