AIS's Rugged Panel PC is Equipped with NEMA 4X and IP66 Ratings, and Constructed of Stainless Steel Front Bezels Featuring a Corrosion and Chemical Resistant Surface

AIS's HMI Touch Panels Passed NEMA 4X and IP66 Environmental Certification Testing by UL to Withstand Harsh Industrial Environments and for Industrial Automation Control Applications

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA – American Industrial Systems, Inc. (AIS) an innovator and the leader of Human Machine Interface (HMI) Panels, Operator Interface Terminals, Industrial PCs, and Industrial Thin Clients, announces their intelligent series of ruggedized, panel PCs and touch screens for industrial automation control and monitoring are tested and certified for applications with harsh and challenging environments. AIS's portfolio of Smart Industrial PCs and touch panels consist of their Premium and Standard series HMIs. These advanced PC-based control and monitoring displays and interface are renowned for their open architecture design, high performance, maintenance-free operation, system modularity and expandability.

In addition to their flexible and powerful HMI design features, AIS's Premium and Standard Series Panel PCs and HMIs also carry NEMA 4X and IP66 Environmental Certification and Approval by UL. These certifications and approvals are critical for specification, use and integration into industrial machinery and equipment in a wide variety of industrial applications, ranging from light-duty, indoor industrial locations, to outdoor, extreme environments and conditions.

AIS HMI Panels Offering Passed NEMA 4X/IP66 Testing by UL: Continuously Improves Plant and Facilities Operations and Provides More Flexible Agile Production Capabilities

Thanks to their highly rugged design and construction with stainless steel front bezels featuring corrosion and chemical resistance, AIS's Premium and Standard Series HMI displays, monitor and interfaces can withstand exposure to harsh and corrosive elements, wide temperature ranges and other extreme environmental conditions. These harsh and difficult conditions for electronic equipment such HMIs and industrial panel PCs (IPC) are typically found in many discrete and process manufacturing industries, including Oil and Gas Petrochemical, Power Generation, Maritime and Offshore, Water and Wastewater, Mining industries and more. Common applications in these key industry segment that benefit from AIS's highly rugged, Premium and Standard Series HMI Touch Panels, displays and interfaces may include:

Oil Gas:  Offshore oil rigs, tank farms, frac pumps, portable compression stations and oil and gas pipeline monitoring stations.

Power Generation: Solar, wind, geothermal, biomass and hydro renewables, diesel, coal and nuclear power generation

Maritime & Offshore: Bridges and engine rooms, cruise ships, cargo ships, workboats, and other vessels.

Water/Wastewater: Municipalities, wastewater filtration plants, water purification stations, pump systems and water treatment original equipment manufacturers (OEMs),

Mining: Excavators, Cranes, trucks, drills, drilling jumbos, rock crushers, pulverizers, grinders, hoppers, concentrators, jigs, conveyors, belts and transport systems, engines and power systems and smelters.

AIS Uses International Certifications and Testing Ratings and Guidelines when Developing Industrial Enclosures for their Premium and Standard Rugged, Industrial Panel PCs and Touch Screens

AIS use two key standards for rating the ability of their Premium and Standard series rugged, PC-based HMIs to withstand harsh indoor and outdoor industrial environments and locations: NEMA ratings and IP ratings. NEMA ratings were developed by the National Electrical Manufactures Association (NEMA) based in the USA. The other key standard AIS follows for their line of intelligent interfaces is Ingress Protection (IP) ratings. They were developed in Europe and are used internationally. While NEMA and IP ratings are not identical, they are very similar and can often be used interchangeably for the purpose of rating enclosures for industrial environments.

NEMA 4X ratings defined included: Watertight. Must exclude at least 65 GPM of water from 1-in. nozzle delivered from a distance not less than 10 ft. for 5 min. Used outdoors on ship docks, in dairies, and in breweries. X (as 4X) indicates additional corrosion resistance.  NEMA ratings also require additional product features and tests (such as functionality under icing conditions, enclosures for hazardous areas, knock-outs for cable connections and others) not addressed by IP ratings.

Ranging from 12.1" to 24" in display sizes, AIS tests and rates products to both standards so that their Premium and Standard rugged and reliable industrial panel PCs can easily be integrated into machinery and facilities regardless of the location and environment. They provide the performance and reliability required by operators, engineers and administrators from a multitude of industries, markets and applications.
