AIS's Industrial HMI Panels Utilize Open Standard IT Protocols and Interfaces, and Communications for Connecting, Monitoring, and Controlling Automation Devices Via OPC UA

AIS’s Embedded HMI Panel Supports Binary TCP Protocols, and OPC UA, OPC DA, and OPC .NET Interfaces, and OPC UA APIs for Automation, Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT Applications

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA – American Industrial Systems, Inc. (AIS) an innovator, designer and manufacturer of Human Machine Interface (HMI) Touch Panels, Operator Interface Terminals, Industrial Box PCs, Web Thin Clients, and Industrial Monitors announces their intelligent portfolio of touch panels PCs and HMIs support open standard IT and interfaces for communications via protocols such as OPC UA, OPC DA, OPC.NET and binary TCP protocols. Open Platform Communications (OPC) is a series of standards and specifications for industrial telecommunication. Developed by the industrial automation industry, the original standard OLE for Process Control (Object Linking and Embedding for Process Control). The PC specifies the communication of real-time plant data between control devices from different manufacturers. With built-in support for different open communications protocols, AIS’s intelligent family of embedded HMIs and touchscreen interfaces provide customers maximum connectivity, communications and networking capabilities. AIS’s flexible series of Smart Touch Panel PCs, including the Compact, Standard and Premium HMI models which are designed to support these popular protocols and standards, allow for easy control, communications and monitoring of automation controls, devices and equipment in industrial automation, Industry 4.0 and IoT applications.

AIS Offers Flexibility and Versatility Supporting Open Protocols and Standards for Communications, Control and Visualization for M2M Applications with their Family of Smart HMIs and Touch Panels

AIS’s Smart HMI open architecture platform design provides communications with a wide variety protocols to help facilitate deployment of controls and machinery in Industry 4.0, IT and IoT applications. The open platform HMI from AIS allows customers to easily and quickly integrate a vast range of controls and devices for Cloud of Things (CoT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications which typically dictate open systems requirements.

Open Platform Communications (OPC) now succeeded by OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) is an industrial M2M communication protocol for interoperability developed by the OPC Foundation. Although developed by the same organization, OPC UA differs significantly from its predecessor. The OPC Data Access specification is also known as OPC DA. OPC DA deals only with real-time data and the focus on the continuous communication of data. OPC Data Access is a group of client-server standards that provides specifications for communicating real-time data from data acquisition devices such as PLCs to display and interface devices like AIS’s Smart Compact, Standard or Premium Series HMIs which are often specified and incorporated into SCADA control systems, ERP and MES systems in plants and factories.

Built-in Serial and Ethernet Communications Ports Allows AIS’s Compact, Standard and Premium HMIs Enable Operators to Control Complex Automation Systems via TCP Protocols and Transport Layers

Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is a core protocol of the Internet protocol suite. It originated in the initial network implementation in which it complemented the Internet Protocol (IP). Therefore, the entire suite is commonly referred to as TCP/IP. TCP networking provides reliable, ordered and error-checked delivery of a stream of octets between industrial applications running on hosts communicating over an IP network. Major Internet and Industrial Automation applications such as the World Wide Web, email, remote administration and file transfer rely on TCP.

AIS’s Smart Embedded HMIs and Touch Panel Industrial PCs leverage TCP/IP among other protocols to help connect and communicate with Web, PLC, HMI, SCADA, MES and ERP applications. AIS’s open platform is a common feature across all their control, monitoring solutions, including their Compact, Standard and Premium Series HMIs. These Smart HMIs and Touch Panel IPCs from AIS also ensures network security and enables users to effectively use TCP/IP based networking, HTML5 Web Browsers, Web-enabled HMI/SCADA/MES, Industrial Automation, Field Mobility, M2M and other Industry 4.0 technologies and applications.

Modular, Flexible Reliable Smart HMIs for Open Platform Communications Connectivity, Compatibility and Networking

In addition to open networking flexibility supporting binary TCP Protocols, and OPC UA, OPC DA, and OPC .NET Interfaces, and OPC UA APIs, AIS offers an extensive range of rugged, industrial computing and HMI solutions for configurations and applications in industrial, commercial, hazardous, military and marine industries and applications.

Available in 7.0” - 24.0” HMI touchscreen interfaces, AIS’s Compact, Standard and Premium HMI models offer flexible, configurable, modular and standardized interface for embedded computing for easy and efficient integration for Smart industries.
