AIRLANCO® Expands its Welding Capabilities
FALLS CITY, NE- AIRLANCO, a designer and manufacturer of air management equipment, recently expanded its welding capabilities with the purchase and installation of a high-capacity Dual Bed Fanuc Robot welding station. The robotic equipment includes a custom control module and specialty tooled beds to initially manufacture centrifugal fan wheels from high-definition plasma cut parts. These features and more will allow AIRLANCO to improve its production quality, including wheel run out and balance tolerance - further building on the efficiency and quality that already characterize AIRLANCO products. The robot application evolved, in large part, as a result of the company's expanded Research and Development programs. The Dual Bed Fanuc Robot welding station will be introduced in AIRLANCO's production systems in coming months.
The Fanuc Robot is an exceptional addition to the company. Offering a six-axis, modular construction, it is an electric servo-driven robot designed for precise welding. The robot features the best-in-class reach versus stroke ratio, as well as featuring an extremely large work envelope for large parts and complex tooling.
The unit will initially be incorporated into the production of AIRLANCO Centrifugal Fan Wheels for the company's C2250 model and C3000 series - both clockwise and counter clockwise. Two additional robot modules have been purchased to further meet the company's custom application needs. They will be installed and programmed one per year for the next two years.
