AirBoss Expands US Manufacturing Capabilities

AirBoss Rubber Compounding has recently expanded the manufacturing capabilities in Scotland Neck, NC with the addition of strip equipment.  The new installation will allow AirBoss to supply the US market with varying dimensions of strip piled in a stable cross weave configuration.  This preform will be standardized to all AirBoss locations maintaining the consistency with which our customers are familiar.

This achievement represents a turning point for the Scotland Neck facility, which has seen a dramatic transformation in the past year.  This facility transitioned from being a producer of select high volume compounds to having the ability to handle the complexity of the most challenging requirements.  A significant investment went into improving the reliability of the equipment in addition to this strip capability.  Scotland Neck along with the Kitchener facility is certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001.

In addition AirBoss is proud to announce that their Wake Forest Technical Centre has established itself as an integral part of the intellectual exchange for the rubber industry.  This year it commissioned several pieces of analytical equipment, an FTIR, TGA and RPA to name a few, and achieved ISO certification under the Scotland Neck umbrella.  Coupling these achievements with the experienced technical team and linking it to the AirBoss technical centres in Kitchener, Ontario and Acton Vale, Quebec, strategically places AirBoss in a strong position to further support our US, Canada and Global customer base.

AirBoss has worked hard to gain the reputation of quality and consistency in the rubber industry and are pleased to have commercialized this capability in Scotland Neck.  Several existing customers have already experienced a seamless transition with a great deal of success.
