Novar Controls Corporation Introduces VAV-4040 with Integrated Damper Actuator
Copley, Ohio - June 3, 2004 - Novar Controls announced today the release of its new VAV-4040 Variable Air Volume/Variable Volume and Temperature Controller. The module, which features an integrated Belimo® damper actuator, provides cost-effective control for the widest variety of VAV and VVT applications possible. It can be used on single-duct or dual-duct VAV boxes, boxes that have a reheat fan, or boxes that have built-in staged or modulating heat. The VVT mode allows the damper output to reverse its action in response to the air temperature being supplied to it by an HVAC unit.
The module also features an on-board differential pressure airflow sensor, an air quality compensation/ventilation override using an analog or digital CO2 input or indoor air quality input (which it can accept directly or via a network), pressure-independent or pressure-dependent control, staged reheat control, tri-state or 2- to 10-VDC modulating reheat control, and series or parallel reheat fan control. It can accommodate a tri-state or 2- to 10-VDC external damper actuator and offers one output point for open programming.
The module can operate as part of a Novar Controls LOGIC ONE® system, communicating with Savvy®, Lingo®, and Envoi® executive modules, or in stand-alone mode. It is designed to be used with Novar Controls' Futura Temperature Sensors (FTS-4 or FTS-4A with temperature setpoint adjustment) and can be integrated with the Novar Controls' Hawki® Advanced Air-Handling Controller. A 10,000-ohm, Type 2, thermistor temperature sensor can be attached to the VAV-4040 to monitor discharge air.
