Increasing Demand Drives Additions to Hendrickson's PRIMAAX® Suspension Line

WOODRIDGE, Ill. - Hendrickson expands the popular line of PRIMAAX® vocational air suspensions this year with a version specifically designed for the rigorous demands of rear-discharge mixers along with rugged, high-capacity configurations.

Combining a robust design with performance enhancing features, Hendrickson's PRIMAAX heavy-duty air suspension continues to bring numerous benefits, previously unavailable in any one air suspension, to vocational truck owners and operators.

The rear-discharge mixer version gives concrete customers excellent ride, equipment protection and weight reduction without sacrificing stability.

For more demanding jobs, the high-capacity configuration increases the capacity rating to 26,000 pounds in a single axle and 52,000 pounds in a tandem.

PRIMAAX, first launched in 2003, quickly earned the trust of vocational customers performing in a variety of applications. Currently it comes in single, tandem and tridem axle ratings of 23,000, 46,000 and 69,000 pounds.

Customers operating a wide range of vehicles, from dump trucks to front-discharge mixers, from truck-mounted cranes to milk trucks, find that PRIMAAX delivers the ride, handling, articulation, durability and stability needed for demanding vocational applications.

"We have been very pleased with the growth of PRIMAAX in heavy-duty applications. Our customers have found that this suspension provides an excellent ride while maintaining the performance characteristics expected in the heavy-duty vehicle industry," reports Gerry Remus, vocational marketing manager for Hendrickson Truck Suspension Systems.

The first market to back this innovative product was the front-discharge mixer market. PRIMAAX became the standard air-ride suspension at major front-discharge mixer manufacturers Oshkosh, Indiana Phoenix and Advance.

Customers in this market have been using air-ride for several years, and PRIMAAX gained acceptance in a short period of time due to improved stability and a low maintenance design that incorporates durable, lightweight components.

The improved ride quality of PRIMAAX reduces noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), which promotes longer life for body equipment, electronics and other truck components.

Fleet owners and owner operators confirm increased articulation as another valuable benefit. PRIMAAX offers up to twelve inches of diagonal articulation and eight inches of axle travel for improved traction, resulting in greater mobility on job sites.
Customers who leave the comfort of the paved road appreciate the performance characteristics of the PRIMAAX suspension. In the past, truck owners sacrificed ride and handling to obtain stability and off-road maneuverability.

Building on the strong performance of units in the field, Hendrickson officials announce PRIMAAX availability at all North American front discharge mixer manufacturers. In addition, most commercial heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers in North America feature a PRIMAAX suspension offering.
