Air Filtration System suits robotic welding industry.

Press Release Summary:

Self-contained RoboVent(TM) captures contaminated air, including fumes and microscopic metals, as they are produced in robotic welding cells. It cleans and recycles contaminated air, returning clean air into plant and helping to maintain healthy working environment. RoboVent captures 100% of weld smoke, allowing nothing to escape into plant. Pleated filtering system is treated with oil-absorbing filter element. Reverse-pulse technology self-cleans filters automatically.

Robovent(TM) Self-Contained Air Filtration System Making Healthy Impact Within the Robotic Welding Industry

Concern For Respiratory Safety, Employee Health And Plant Cleanliness Growing

CLAWSON, MI-With employee health, plant safety and cleanliness becoming more of a priority for the robotic welding industry, the RoboVent(TM), a self-contained air filtration system developed by Great Lakes Air Systems, is revolutionizing the way the robotic welding industry approaches air filtration and employee safety.

Health problems from inhaling dangerous fumes and microscopic metals produced in the welding process are on the rise among welding workers. Respiratory illnesses are showing up in welding workers, particularly later in life. Respiratory problems are also causing absenteeism and affecting plant production.

The RoboVent system eliminates much of this danger by capturing contaminated air, including fumes and microscopic metals, right at the source as they are produced in robotic welding cells. The RoboVent system's self-contained, highly-efficient, filtering system cleans and recycles contaminated air, returning clean air into the plant and helping to maintain a healthy working environment. The RoboVent system is designed to capture 100 percent of the weld smoke, allowing nothing to escape into the plant environment.

Many robotic welding operations do not currently have any ventilation present in their plants or are using inefficient central filtration, or worse, exhaust systems. "These systems are outdated," said John Reid, president of Great Lakes Air Systems. "We developed the RoboVent system because we saw a need to greatly improve the safety and air quaiity of the work environment in robotic welding piants, while providing maximum flexibility and minimum downtime."

The RoboVent system is designed to save space within a plant and allow maximum flexibility. The RoboVent is available in a floor-mounted system and a top mounted (or FloorSaver) system. Both systems are self-contained and can be installed on most existing robotic welding cells.

All RoboVent units use an innovative pleated filtering system treated with an oil-absorbing filter-friendly element for remarkable efficiency. The RoboVent also features a state-of-the-art reverse pulse technology to self-clean the filters automatically and maintain clean, efficient operation of the filtering system with little need for maintenance. Each RoboVent system is an industrial grade product made from heavy gauge material and is 100% welded to withstand the rigors of a heavy manufacturing environment.

Great Lakes Air Systems is a family owned manufacturer of innovative, environmental air filtration products for the welding industry that keep employees healthier, plants cleaner and improve plant operations efficiency and profitability. In business since 1989, Great Lakes Air Systems is based in Clawson, Michigan.
