Air Filters with Spring Clips provide positive grounding.

Press Release Summary:

Offering effective EMI shielding, Spring Clip filters help reduce vibration and chatter and can be made to meet special installation requirements. Dual EMI Air Filters can be used in any size electronics chassis to meet needs for large and small filter assemblies, while Mini Spring Clips provide solution for grounding in 1U high chassis. RoHS-compliant products meet following specifications: UL 94 HF-1; UL 900 Class 2, CE; Telcordia NEBS GR-78-CORE; and GR-63-CORE.

Original Press Release:

Air Filters with Spring Clips Provide Positive Grounding

When a design calls for more positive grounding, Universal Air Filter Spring Clip filters offer more effective EMI shielding.

o UAF Spring Clip filters simultaneously help reduce vibration and chatter.

o They can meet special installation requirements.

EMI shields are typically integrated into an air filter assembly that uses honeycomb cells to deflect and attenuate EMI noise that can disrupt vital electronic functions. One reason for this problem is that cooling electronics with forced air typically requires a large opening in the cabinet or enclosure for fan and air filters. A large opening allows more potential EMI/RFI noise to be emitted. Universal's Dual EMI Air Filters can be used in any size electronics chassis.

o The original UAF Spring Clip and the new Mini Spring Clip will satisfy design needs for both large and small filter assemblies.

o The new Mini Spring Clip provides the ideal solution for grounding in 1U high chassis. Universal Air Filter's products meet the following standards and classifications:

o UL 94 HF-1

o UL 900 Class 2, CE

o Telcordia NEBS GR-78-CORE

o GR-63-CORE

o RoHS Compliance.

o When used as part of a fire enclosure, they also may be configured to comply with the flame-drip requirements described in UL 60950 and EN 60950. A free, round-the-clock air filter prototype service is available to design engineers worldwide at www.uaf.com. The Internet-submitted prototype request form, or a quick phone call, fax or e-mail, is generally all it takes to get the necessary information so the custom prototype can be produced and shipped within five working days.
