New High-Power Air Drills

ROCK HILL, SC, May 16, 2003- Chicago Pneumatic has introduced two new models within its DR750 High-Power Air Drill line that extends the capabilities of these high-productivity production
hand tools. The new P400 drill has a free speed of 400 rpm and a stall torque of 487 in.-lb (55 Nm). This low-speed, high-power output makes the tool useful for drilling/reaming of bit-stalling materials, such as brass, copper, titanium or steel sheet, and large hole-sawing of materials such as fiberglass sheet. Weight is only 3.5 lb (1.6 kg). A 1/2" (13 mm) keyed chuck is standard.

The P20000 high-speed variant has a free speed of 20,000 rpm, useful for working with carbon fiber composites, Kevlar and similar materials with natural lubricity. The P20000 comes with a 5/16 in. (8 mm) keyed chuck. Stall torque is 14 in.-lb (1.6 Nm), and weight is only 2.4 lb (1.1 kg).

The DR750 line features 1-hp (0.75-kW) oil-free motors, ergonomic aluminum/composite pistol grips and low vibration (less than 2.5 m/s²) for high productivity with operator comfort.

Another recent addition to the DR750 line is a full range of No. 1 Jacobs taper spindle tools as an alternative to the standard 3/8"-24 threaded spindle. The No. 1 spindle is useful where minimal run-out (0.03 mm at 25 mm FIM) is desired. The No. 1 spindle also accepts Jacobs No. 2 and No. 6 taper sleeves for added mounting versatility.
