Agilent Technologies Previews New Compliance EMI Receiver Solution at IEEE EMC Symposium

PORTLAND, Ore., 2006 IEEE EMC Symposium, Booth 1334/1336, Aug. 15, 2006

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced its re-entry into the CISPR-compliant EMI receiver market with a preview of its compliance EMI receiver solution. Its high-performance, outstanding accuracy and full compliance with the CISPR 16-1-1 and MIL STD 461 standards enable EMC engineers and managers working with in-house EMC test labs, third-party EMC test houses and solution providers to increase the speed and confidence in pre-compliance, troubleshooting, and -- a new capability -- compliance measurements.

The PSA-based EMI receiver is comprised of any of Agilent's premier PSA Series of high-performance spectrum analyzers and the new N9039A RF pre-selector. Featuring the outstanding accuracy and speed of the PSA Series analyzers, the compliance EMI receiver enables decreased test time, increased measurement accuracy and an increased probability of intercepting unwanted EMI signals. Taken together, the benefits of the PSA-based EMI receiver can greatly increase the user's measurement confidence.

A key feature of the compliance EMI receiver is its use of an external pre-selector for mix-and-match flexibility. This characteristic makes it easy and inexpensive for users to upgrade an existing PSA to a fully compliant receiver, and it enables the user to combine any pre-selector with any PSA for added flexibility.

"With its exceptional accuracy, flexibility, reliability and worldwide local support, Agilent's PSA-based EMI receiver fully supports the needs of EMI compliance engineers and managers who today require test capability to 40 GHz or higher, rapid speed and high uptime -- all at a reasonable price," said Ron Nersesian, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Wireless Business Unit. "With 65 years of proven technology, trusted measurements and vast expertise, Agilent is uniquely suited to help its customers address the issues surrounding EMI compliance testing. Today's showing of the new CISPR-compliant, PSA-based EMI receiver demonstrates our continued commitment to developing innovative, cost-effective solutions to support current and future trends in testing."

The Agilent PSA compliance EMI receiver is the ideal solution for EMI compliance engineers and managers faced with legacy systems nearing the end of support life, or who are looking for a more accurate, fast solution to compliance testing.
