Agilent Technologies' GENESYS EDA Software Chosen by Pace Micro Technology for Digital TV Technologies

SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 29, 2007 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that U.K.-based Pace Micro Technology (LSE: PIC) will use Agilent's GENESYS electronic design automation (EDA) software to design set-top boxes used in digital technologies for the home entertainment industry.

Pace is a global supplier to the world's largest television service providers. The three-year agreement includes multiple GENESYS licenses and training for RF board design, and an optional upgrade path to other Agilent EDA products.

"We needed an affordable, easy-to-use RF EDA tool today to design our current set-top boxes, as well as future flexibility to design next-generation products," said Ian Clarke, engineering manager with Pace. "The complete software and support package included in this agreement starts us with the GENESYS software, and allows us to upgrade easily to Agilent's Advanced Design System (ADS) if we ever need to. Either way, we maximize the return on our design-tool investment, and we speed our products to the marketplace."

Developed originally by Eagleware-Elanix and later acquired by Agilent Technologies, GENESYS is an integrated EDA software package for RF and microwave design. Its configurations focus on RF circuit and system design at an unmatched price. From initial system architecture through final documentation, GENESYS provides state-of-the-art performance in a single, easy-to-use design environment that is fast, powerful and accurate. Agilent also offers trade-in programs for GENESYS users who wish to upgrade to the industry-leading advanced simulation technology in ADS in the future.

"Everyone is attracted to the price and ease-of-use of the GENESYS software," said Daren McClearnon, product manager with Agilent's EEsof EDA division. "But Agilent also provides a path to ADS, so you can't really make a wrong choice. This deal helps Pace become more competitive, and it demonstrates why our Eagleware-Elanix acquisition has been so successful. Agilent offers superior value at every price point."

Current GENESYS software suites start at $3995, including four bundles priced under $10,000. For more information about GENESYS suites, visit www.eagleware.com
