Health Canada issues Agfa HealthCare a Canadian Medical Device License for CR Mammo system

Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, announces today that Health Canada has issued a Canadian Medical Device License to Agfa HealthCare, authorizing the company to sell its Computed Radiography (CR) Mammography system in Canada. The announcement was made at the RSNA 2007 exhibition, taking place in Chicago (USA) from November 25th until 30th.
Agfa HealthCare's CR Mammography systems provide a cost-effective and user-friendly solution for moving from analog to digital mammography. Systems such as the CR 85-X, for example, can be configured to support mixed use between mammography and general radiology for seamlessly integrated digital mammography and general radiography workflows. Facilities can also use their existing analog X-ray modalities for maximum affordability. Agfa HealthCare's CR Mammography systems are available for sale in Canada from today onwards.
