Aero-Mechanical Conveyor handles cohesive materials.

Press Release Summary:

Conveyor system, which consists of rope and disk assembly enclosed in carbon or stainless steel tubes, works with inherently sticky, cohesive materials by fluidizing them in air stream. Product can be configured in terms of distance and angles, does not require outside air supply, and can be used with other process equipment. PLC-friendly system options include bag dump stations, air purge cleaning, food grade components, and multiple inlets/outlets.

Mechanical Conveying of Cohesive Materials

Charlotte, North Carolina --- Spiroflow has introduced a new Aero-Mechanical Conveyor as one of the best ways to convey cohesive powder with little or no degradation and equipment problems.

The conveyor system works by fluidizing the material in an air stream. Common materials include Titanium Dioxide (TiO2), carbon black, flour, coffee and tea leaves.

This fluidization process reduces degradation dramatically and works well with inherently sticky, cohesive materials. The actual conveyor is a rope and disk assembly enclosed in carbon or stainless steel tubes. By maintaining the rope/disk assembly at a constant rate of speed, the conveyor produces a conveying stream an operator would meter feed material into.

Multiple configurations including conveyor distance and angles are available. The system is very efficient and does not require any outside air supply or large motors. It can be used with other process equipment such as bulk bag dischargers and flexible screw conveyors and is PLC friendly.

Options include bag dump stations, air purge cleaning, food grade components and multiple inlets/outlets for batching jobs.
