AEC Redesigns TFH600 Fluff Feed Hoppers for Enhanced Performance

In keeping up with customer demands, AEC has added new features to improve the TFH600 Fluff Feeder. At NPE 2006, the newTFH600 will be on display at booth number 1802. These new features provide customers with a precise fit for their individual needs.

TFH Fluff feed hoppers are designed to feed edge trim and roll scrap back into an extruder at a maximum rate of 30% of the extruder output. The unique dual-stage design ensures that the fluff feed in mixed with the virgin material above the extruder throat. Each auger is independently adjustable and can be set to follow the extruder screw speed by monitoring a tachometer signal from the extruder.

TFH600 models now feature gussets that provide additional strength to the pedestal assembly to accommodate equipment loads. A direct drive to the vertical auger avoids several additional parts and reduces maintenance time and cost. The hopper assembly offers a modular design for easy repair as well as maintenance, and cleanout is easy and quick with two hopper cleanout doors. The virgin inlet placement is more flexible to accommodate any customer need.

Other standard features include, keyed safety interlocks on all access doors, a NEMA 12 enclosure, machine-mount flange, mild steel material contact surfaces, independently-adjustable vertical mix auger and horizontal fluff metering auger, individual speed adjustments using variable-frequency drives and an optical level sensor with delay timer for field connection to feed rolls and alarm device.

In addition to industry leading blending and reclaim products, AEC always offers full support from start-up to training to 24-hour on-call service. Further AEC product offerings include heating and cooling, material handling, size reduction, automation, downstream extrusion and systems contracting.
