Advanced Feeedback Systems Translate to Lower Costs for Fluid Research Meter, Mix, Dispense Customers

Tustin, CA - Fluid Research Corporation (FRC), a leading innovator and manufacturer of precision dispensing systems, focuses on advanced feedback processes in their SA Series of multi-component fluid management and dispensing machines. Early and detailed feedback provides meter, mix and dispense customers with less rework, less material shrinkage and continuous improvement through statistical process control which ultimately results in lower costs.

"Companies are looking to optimize their time and material use any way they can these days and the SA Series offers several ways to do that," said Stephen Gordon, FRC's vice president of engineering. "Both the Advantage and the Signature machines offer varying levels of continuous feedback to identify malfunctions, enhance diagnostics and material flow and reduce both scrap and rework requirements."

The SA Series includes two levels of dispensing machines, the Signature and the Advantage, each of which are designed for accuracy, longevity and ease-of-use to minimize training time. Signature systems are computer controlled, can dispense up to four components, and are designed to accommodate the most complex applications. Advantage systems are value priced and are the choice for production applications without data logging requirements.

Signature machines, with their onboard computer, offer continuous feedback on a touchscreen and a shut-down function to minimize scrap and waste. Signature offers data logging of any measurable dispense parameter including ratio, quantity and time of shot, pump pressures, motor currents and speeds, and even more information when flow meters are installed. Standard data logs include all error messages, start times, programs selected, number of shots taken, voltage, current draw and air supply. Any of the above can be written to a log file for access by connection to an in-house LAN or displayed on the Signature computer screen.

The Advantage provides communication between the controller and the pump motors and if it senses a disconnect between the two, the machine can shut down and notify the operator. This feedback loop means less scrap of existing parts in the potting process, less material waste, and also less time spent on cleaning the machine all of which contribute to lowered costs. The optional closed loop dispensing technology provides feedback on motors and over pressure protection.

With its enhanced feedback mechanisms, the SA Series minimizes labor costs, material waste and the need for clean up, all of which have a significant positive impact on the bottom line. The SA Series delivers accurate, reliable, repeatable results that will increase productivity and quality while minimizing prep and rework time.
