ADMET Showcases Low-Force Cyclic Testing at Medical Design & Manufacturing West

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Jan. 29, 2008 - ADMET Inc., a provider of integrated materials testing systems, is showcasing its high-speed, low-force eXpert 5607 universal testing machine here, at Medical Design & Manufacturing West (Booth #649). The machine is suited for medical applications since it can perform cyclic tests of biomaterials and medical devices and mimic body systems.

The eXpert 5607 tabletop machine performs compression, tensile and cyclic testing to 15Hz. When coupled with either ADMET's eP-DS standalone dynamic servo controller or the Quattro PC-based servo controller, the eXpert 5607 offers precise measurement of extremely low-force tests from just a few grams up to 10,000 grams.

ADMET's modular design enables the machines to be easily reconfigured to operate in horizontal or vertical orientations. The eXpert 5607 is available in low- and high-speed configurations with an optional sealed bellows kit that enables the testing machine to be used in wet or corrosive environments. Detachable controllers enable ADMET test frames to be used in sub-zero or elevated-temperature chambers.

Users can program ramp, square, sine and triangular waveforms. They can also adjust control gains and end point values on the fly or activate amplitude control to automatically adjust the end point values to ensure that desired targets are met.

"The ADMET eXpert 5607 was designed for medical applications, yet it retains the flexibility for use in any low-force testing application," said Richard Gedney, ADMET founder and president. "It is already being used in many research and production environments. We're finding that its cyclic testing capabilities are especially popular since it gives researchers an efficient way to certify their products to meet customer requirements and industry standards."

The eXpert 5607 is available immediately directly from ADMET and through ADMET representatives. Product specifications are available at: www.admet.com/assets/eXpert560x.pdf. ADMET also offers grips, fixtures, baths and heaters for testing a variety of specimens in different environments.
