ADMET Enhances its Plastics Materials Testing Offerings

Offerings include new tabletop universal testing machines and specialized grips and fixtures

CHICAGO - June 19, 2006 - ADMET Inc. of Norwood, Mass., a provider of integrated materials testing systems, today debuted several tabletop universal materials testing machines, grips and fixtures here at NPE 2006 (Booth #10249). The machines and accessories are useful for testing plastics, polymers and films in tension, compression, flexure and shear. The products break new ground in terms of low cost (universal testing machines start at $4,995) and testing accuracy.

ADMET recently introduced three lines of tabletop testing machines (the eXpert 560x, eXpert 760x and eXpert 26xx - also available in a floor configuration) that address plastics industry needs. Capacities range from 1kN (225 lbf) to 150kN (33,000 lbf). The company also added a full catalog of grips and fixtures for a range of characterization tests. The smaller capacity configurations, coupled with function-specific grips, are ideal for plastics testing.

ADMET's eXpert series machine control units range from the standalone eP Digital Controller to the MTESTWindows(TM) PC/Windows-based materials testing system. All ADMET controllers feature fast acting 32-bit microprocessors for accurate and repeatable preload and test routines. The control units also collect data and report results including tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, yield and percent elongation. Data can be exported to spreadsheets and/or laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for further analysis and reporting.

"ADMET's line of low-cost, low- to mid-range force tabletop testing machines, coupled with our full line of grips and fixtures, enables manufacturers to order custom-specified materials testing systems that are built from the outset to handle plastics, polymers and films," commented Richard Gedney, ADMET founder and president.

ADMET products meet ASTM D638 and ISO 527 for tensile properties; ASTM D790, ASTM D6272 and ISO 178 for flexural properties; ASTM D1621 and ISO 844 for compressive properties; and ASTM D732 for properties in shear.
