Adjustable Edge Banding System Simplifies Daily Operation and Reduces Maintenance
DULUTH, GA - September 19, 2006 - The MiniEdge(TM) adhesive dispensing system for edge banding from Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN) uses adjustable nozzle technology for improved process control and less maintenance. The system, which is ideal for small to mid-sized edge banders, is comprised of a dispensing nozzle adjustable to a maximum of 60 mm, a DuraBlue® 10 adhesive melter, a hose and a spring-loaded bracket.
An alternative to traditional open glue roller systems, the closed MiniEdge system is designed to apply unfilled ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) adhesives. The ability to accurately adjust adhesive coating widths helps alleviate the open roller tendency to over-apply adhesive just to achieve adequate coating coverage.
The MiniEdge nozzle design and bracketry allow easy installation to existing edge banding machines. The closed system helps protect adhesive from air-born contaminants, reduce adhesive waste and decrease maintenance.
