New, High Temperature Resistant Anaerobic Adhesives & Sealants Line for: Threadlocking, Gasketing and Retaining
SOMERSET, NJ - Permabond LLC launches a new line of products: Permabond® High Temperature Resistant; Gasketmaker®, threadlocking and retaining Compounds. The Permabond high temperature resistant anaerobic products are ideally suited for applications that require temperature ranges up to 200°C. Standard products typically resist 150 to 175°C. In addition to high temperature resistance, the threadlocking and retaining compounds fixture in half the time of standard products: 2-5 minutes compared to 5-10 minutes.
Alternate assembly methods include costly, very tight tolerance components and time consuming heated assembly processes. Anaerobic adhesives and sealants are single component liquids
that cure only when in contact with tight fitting metal parts and oxygen is excluded. Anaerobic adhesives work by filling the gap between mated parts and curing to a plastic thus preventing
corrosion between the mated parts, preventing loosening caused by vibration and thermal expansion. In addition, they have excellent chemical resistance.
THREADLOCKING - Permabond HM130 is a high strength, fast curing anaerobic threadlocker, which is suitable for applications where the temperature range is up to 200°C. HM130 prevents loosening of threaded fasteners. HM130 fixtures in half the time of standard threadlockers, making it ideal for automated assembly processes. HM130 has a medium viscosity, other viscosities are available.
RETAINING - Permabond HM162 is a high strength retaining compound that is best suited for cylindrical parts where high temperature resistance is needed. HM 162 resist temperatures to
200°C compared to a standard retaining compounds that resist 150 to 175°C. HM162 fixtures in 2-5 minutes compared to standard retaining compounds that take 5-10 minutes to fixture.
GASKETMAKER® - Permabond MH196 is a flange sealant that can replace or be used as a dressing for conventional pre-cut gaskets. The thixotropic property of MH196 prevents migration of the sealant before and during cure. It provides 100% contact of the flanges by filling the areas where no contact can occur due to irregularities in the metal. It is best suited for applicat ons that require up to 200°C temperature range. Permabond MH196 forms an instant, low to moderate pressure resistant, leak-free seal, and allows for adjustment for approximately 5 minutes after assembly. Unlike other gaskets, this anaerobic form-in-place gasket allows for metal-to-metal contact eliminating the problem of re-torquing. It is non flammable and is suitable for high-speed production. If disassembly is needed, the Gastketmaker® gasket stays pliable after cure making it easy to remove. It peels off in minutes with a putty knife, no grinding or chiseling needed.
