Adhesives Research Introduces Ultra Low-Outgassing Tapes for Tape Seal and Label Fabrication in Hard Disk Drive Assemblies
GLEN ROCK, Pa. (December 5, 2001) - Adhesives Research, Inc., a leading global developer and manufacturer of custom pressure-sensitive adhesive tape technology, introduces two new products for the hard disk drive market. ARclean(TM) 9006 and ARclean(TM) 9019 are two ultra low-outgassing products suggested for use in the fabrication of tape seals and labels in hard disk drive assemblies.
ARclean(TM) 9006 is an ultra low-outgassing, cleanly strippable adhesive with a 3-mil, matte chrome polyester film backing. It is suggested for use in the fabrication of environmental seals on hard disk drive (HDD) assemblies where clean strippability of HDD base plates and covers is required for rework after burn-in. It has ultra low total VOCs and low extractable ions.
ARclean(TM) 9019 is an electronically clean, ultra low-outgassing adhesive with a 2-mil thermally printable, white polyester film label stock. It is suggested for the fabrication of head stack assembly, marketing and caddy labels for hard disk drives where clean strippability is required for rework after the burn-in process. It is acrylic acid-free with ultra low total VOCs and low extractable ions.
Use of Adhesives Research's ARclean(TM) adhesives minimizes HDD system crashes due to contamination while minimizing media fogging and head corrosion. These products help to eliminate
