New Plastic Welder(TM) SD Adhesive Can Be Sanded to a Nonporous Finish

DANVERS, MA - New Plastic Welder(TM) SD (sandable) adhesive from Devcon is ideal for bonding PPO, PVC, and various polyesters, polycarbonates, styrenics, and composites where filler material must be sanded to a smooth, nonporous finish. Its low-exotherm formula exhibits no expansion or foaming, and its low odor and ease of application make it a good choice for many OEM assembly operations.

A structural methacrylate adhesive that requires little or no surface preparation, Plastic Welder SD fills gaps, bonds to "green" fiberglass without sagging, and can be used to join engineered plastics to dissimilar substrates such as metals, ceramics, and wood. It produces high-strength, load-bearing bonds that are resistant to weathering, impact, and peeling and withstand service temperatures to 250°F.

Plastic Welder SD has a working time of 4-5 minutes and attains functional cure in 2-4 hours at room temperature. Mixed as dispensed (1:1), it is available in resealable 47-ml cartridges and 10-gallon kits.
