Adept Technology's Quattro s650H Robot to be Showcased in Taiwan International Photovoltaic Forum & Exhibition (PV Taiwan 2009)

Exhibit will Feature High Performance Solar Cell Handling Technology with Adept Quattro(TM) Robot

PLEASANTON, Calif., Sep 30, 2009- Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADEP), a leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, today announced it will be showcasing the Adept Quattro s650H robot for solar manufacturing at the Taiwan International Photovoltaic Forum & Exhibition (PV Taiwan 2009) in Taipei, Taiwan, October 7-9, 2009. The technology will be shown in a solar wafer handling system designed by the company's partner CASTEC International Corporation in their exhibit stand (booth # 1359). CASTEC will be demonstrating a high-speed solar cell handling system utilizing the Adept Quattro s650H robot with integrated vision guidance and inspection.

"This event is the largest PV show in Taiwan this year and is an ideal forum for attendees to see and experience firsthand the latest fully-integrated solutions engineered and manufactured locally in Taiwan," said Rush LaSelle, Director of Global Sales and Marketing. "CASTEC's turnkey automation solutions, incorporating Adept's innovative robotics and high performance controls products, are designed to increase throughput, minimize breakage, and reduce scrap, goals any solar manufacturer will need to be competitive in this fast growing industry."

The demonstration system will feature the Adept Quattro robot, which is the only parallel robot (or "delta robot") in the world that features a unique four-arm rotational platform designed for maximum speed, maximum acceleration and exceptional performance across the entire work envelope. Additionally, the powerful embedded amplifiers and compact controls in the Adept Quattro(TM) parallel robot make installation easy and enable reduced workspace. AdeptSight(TM) is an easy-to-use, standalone vision guidance and inspection package that runs on a PC, and comes complete with all the necessary hardware and accessories. The software includes a powerful framework that can be used to develop customized vision guidance and inspection applications. Its simple graphical user interface allows the user to quickly develop robust and accurate vision applications.

The Taiwan International Photovoltaic Forum & Exhibition (PV Taiwan 2009) will be held from October 7 to October 9, 2009 at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall, Area A (5 Hsin-yi Rd., Sec. 5, Taipei, Taiwan). PV Taiwan 2009 is Taiwan's largest PV exposition presenting a diversified platform of products, concepts and business matching. Taiwan's PV industry is firmly established from upstream ingots and wafers, midstream cells and modules, and downstream systems. Using the successful experience of Taiwan's semiconductor and flat panel display industries and the marketing resources of TAITRA and SEMI, PV Taiwan is expected to be the most representative trade exchange platform for Asia's photovoltaic industry.
