ACUTRONIC Inertial Sensor Test Laboratory Now Available for Customer Use

The inertial Test Solutions (iTS) laboratory in the new premises of ACUTRONIC USA in Pittsburgh is officially open for business.

Cost and time-to-market are decisive for the success of a newly launched product containing inertial sensors. Accelerometers and gyroscopes still require physical stimuli and testing remains a main cost driver of the final product. ACUTRONIC provides an interesting business model to manufacturers and integrators of motion sensors.

We offer several benefits to companies developing inertial sensors and systems to avoid the significant capital investment associated with building and maintaining their own facility. The time consuming iterative processes are shortened through more accurate and comprehensive data, resulting in faster time-to-market and lower development costs. Our iTS lab enables you to focus on design and development of the device itself, rather than test equipment and benefit from ACUTRONIC's long experience in inertial measurement technology.

The laboratory consists of 1600 sq ft divided in two environmentally controlled rooms set up with state-of-the-art equipment. Each lab has a separate control area to observe the testing. Both labs come equipped with physical and network securities, ensuring full protection of you data.

The iTS-lab #1 is equipped with a high precision 2-axis motion simulator (roll over pitch). The configuration includes a temperature chamber in order to additionally expose the UUT to realistic conditions to perform Bias cross-axis or G-sensitivity calibrations over temperature.

iTS-lab #2 features a 3-axis motion simulator for six degrees of freedom simultaneously (roll, pitch, yaw plus x, y and z accelerations). A 1-axis rate table for scale factor testing and a linear shaker for shocks up to 350g are also available for use.

The labs are now available for rental on a daily or weekly basis. ACUTRONIC is happy to assist you in developing calibration routines for your sensor. Further services for fixtures, test setup and operations are also available on request.
