Actuator is engineered with Caged Technology.

Press Release Summary:

Type SKR Actuator includes LM Guide and Ballscrew with Caged Technology, which isolates each load carrying re-circulating element in LM guides within individual cage or pocket. Preventing ball-to-ball contact and associated friction, cage also acts as reservoir for lubricants, eliminating need for external lubricating system. Producing little dust, unit is available in outer rail lengths from 150-740 mm and stroke ranges of 55-608.5 mm.

THK's Next Generation Type SKR Actuator Features Double Dose of Caged Technology

Schaumburg, IL (November 25, 2002) - Based on the design of their successful Type KR Actuator. THK's new high-speed Type SKR Actuator has the added benefit of Caged Technology - two times over. The Type SKR's LM Guide and Ballscrew both include THK's patented Caged Technology.

Caged Technology works by isolating each of the load carrying re-circulating elements in their LM guides in an individual cage or pocket. This cage prevents ball-to-ball contact and the associated friction. The cage also acts as a reservoir for lubricants, eliminating the need for an external lubricating system. Specific benefits include increased speed and accuracy of motion, decreased noise levels, long-term, maintenance-free operation and reduced sources of contamination.

The Type SKR provides high rigidity and reduced noise levels. The Type SKR is available in outer rail lengths from 150 - 740 mm and stroke ranges of 55 - 608.5 mm. The Type SKR produces little dust generation. Type SKR is compatible in size with THK's Type KR.
