Press Release Summary:
FS30 flow switch works with any of company's flow sensors to send output at set flow rate. It can be inserted in pipe sizes 1/2 to 48 in., mounted on sensor or remotely, and set to activate on rise or fall. Set point is input using rotary digital switches. Switch has variable hysteresis or deadband setting to accommodate varying amounts of turbulence. If turbulence is significant, deadband keeps switch from chattering on and off at setpoint.

Active Flow Switch
Kent, WA -- November 1, 2001 -- The FS30 flow switch is designed for use with any SeaMetrics flow sensor to activate a switch closure at a set flow rate. These flow sensors can be inserted in pipe sizes 1/2" to 48". The switch can be mounted on the sensor or remotely.
Particularly suited for critical flows, the FS30 is called an "active" flow switch because if it should fail it would tend to fail in a false "no flow" condition, unlike vane-type switches which easily fail in a false "flow" mode. The FS30 can be set to activate on rise or fall, and the set point is input using rotary digital switches.
A variable hysteresis or deadband setting is provided to accommodate varying amounts of turbulence in the flow metering application. If the turbulence is significant, the deadband keeps the switch from chattering on and off at the setpoint.
