Acrylic Transfer Adhesives for Sound Damping, Rubber Extrusion Mounting and Industrial Assembly

Windsor, Connecticut - February 19, 2008.... Scapa North America offers two acrylic transfer adhesives designed for sound attenuation, vibration dampening, rubber extrusion mounting, and general product assembly applications.

Ultrafilm(TM) 6300-001 and Ultrafilm(TM) 6500-001 provide excellent heat resistance and bond well to a wide variety of surfaces including ether and ester foams, rubbers, metals and engineered plastics. Offering superior resistance to chemicals and plasticizers, these transfer adhesives provide excellent long-term aging properties and withstand extreme end use environments. Both products are supplied with a 4 mil white HDPE liner.

The acrylic adhesive used in Ultrafilm 6300-001 is 3 mils or 0.076 mm thick, while the adhesive thickness for Ultrafilm 6500-001 is 5 mils or 0.127 mm. Delivering high initial wet-out, both adhesives offer excellent peel, tack and quick-stick properties, and provide superior anchorage to foams used in demanding environments.

Both transfer adhesives bond well to foam and other sound damping and vibration dampening materials used in automotive/specialty vehicle manufacturing and audio speaker assembly. These transfer adhesives also provide excellent performance when bonding rubber door seals and window headliners found on vehicles, appliances, and a range of other industrial and consumer products. They can also be used for decorative part application.
