New Acrylic Adhesive for Low Energy Plastics



Rocky Hill, Conn. - April 25, 2003.... Henkel Loctite Corporation has introduced new Loctite® 3030, a fast curing, two-component acrylic adhesive formulated to bond many low energy substrates such as HDPE, LLDPE, polyethylene and polypropylene. This thixotropic material can also be used as a general purpose adhesive on a range of other substrates.

Loctite 3030 is a 10:1 mix ratio, room-temperature curing adhesive formulated to provide fixturing strength within 8 to 10 minutes. Once cured, Loctite 3030 maintains its strength even under elevated temperature and humidity conditions. While this structural adhesive is designed to minimize surface preparation on hard to bond plastic substrates, Loctite 3030 will also bond other plastics such as ABS, PVC, and polycarbonate.
