BURLINGTON, Mass., July 26 // -- Acronis Inc., the technological leader in storage management software (http://www.acronis.com/), announced that Land O' Frost, the nation's third largest specialty meat company, is standardizing on Acronis True Image Enterprise Server 9.1, Acronis True Image Workstation 9.1 and Acronis Universal Restore on servers and workstations in three of its key facilities. The Acronis disk imaging software will guarantee the swift recovery of Land O' Frost computers and slice thousands of dollars in downtime off the profit-margin thin sandwich meat industry.

With sales growing from coast to coast and offices in both Lansing, IL and Searcy, AR, Land O' Frost had outgrown its backup system. The company wanted a reliable, fast backup and restore solution that would fit its day-to-day usage of computers and allowed the restoration of an entire computer, be it a server or workstation, in a short amount of time.

Land O' Frost is implementing Acronis True Image Workstation on 200 workstations running Windows XP in three locations and Acronis True Image Enterprise Server on 12 servers, most of which are database servers running Microsoft SQL Server. In only a few weeks, Land O' Frost has almost 50 percent of its computers up and running with the Acronis disaster recovery and disk imaging software.

"The remote installation module of Acronis is a great feature that allows us to install and remotely manage the software," said Phillip Woodson, Information Services Analyst of Land O' Frost. "The implementation did not require any training at all. We simply read the users guide and asked a few questions with technical support and were up and running in no time at all."

With Acronis True Image, complete system restoration can be performed to an existing system, to a new system with different hardware or to a virtual machine. By taking a snapshot of the disk sectors of a running server or workstation, then storing that snapshot to a network share, external drive or even the Acronis Secure Zone, Acronis True Image lets users or IT managers recover data, be it an individual file or an entire hard disk, in minutes instead of hours or days.

"The ease in which Land O' Frost implemented our software and continues to manage it is a testament to the ability of Acronis True Image to support IT needs in an enterprise environment," said Walter Scott, CEO of Acronis. "This is a classic installation where a large manufacturer, in this case packaged foods with multiple facilities, needed a solution to protect mission-critical servers. The company also recognized that key data also exists on the desktops, so now hundreds of systems can be managed by the IT department quickly and easily, generating direct savings in personnel and equipment costs and eliminating soft costs such as potential travel time and IT staff away from the office."
