ACE Selective Soldering Bringing Solutions, Innovations to IPC APEX 2011
Spokane Valley, Washington, USA - ACE Production Technology will showcase a range of selective soldering solutions for electronics assembly at IPC APEX 2011. ACE equipment in the booth will include the value-priced KISS ("Keep It Simple Soldering") 101-B selective soldering system, higher-capacity automated in-line KISS family systems such as the KISS 103 and KISS 104, and especially, ACE's innovative Dual Nozzle Feature for selective soldering, which has been chosen by a panel of judges to be included in the IPC APEX EXPO 2011 Innovative Technology Center (ITC).
IPC APEX EXPO 2011 is the electronics manufacturing industry's premier annual conference and exhibition, attracting thousands of attendees from more than 50 countries. It takes place this year at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, from April 12-14. ACE Production Technologies will be exhibiting in Booth #500 at the show.
The entry-level, affordable KISS 101-B has all the capability needed to perform all required selective soldering functions, including programming, camera assisted alignment, spray flux application and the capability to take advantage of all ACE soldering nozzle technologies. The KISS 101-B is suitable for lead-free solders and can reduce hand soldering operations by up to a factor of 10.
ACE's dual nozzle feature brings significantly greater flexibility and efficiency to the selective soldering process. The dual nozzle feature allows two differently-sized nozzles to operate in tandem, each one individually programmable, to handle a wide range of component types and sizes on an individual PCB assembly during the selective soldering process.
Thanks to this feature, an individual board with differently-sized components can be processed in a single pass through the machine, rather than two or more if different-sized nozzles are needed to process a single board. The need to change nozzles amid process is eliminated, and both nozzles operate within a single soldering sequence program, for simpler and easier setup and operation.
