ACE Installs 2nd Selective Soldering System at Poland's Kongsberg Automotive

Spokane Valley, WA - ACE Production Technologies announces the delivery and installation of a second KISS-D in-line selective soldering system into the Pruszkow manufacturing facility of Kongsberg Automotive in Poland. The first system was installed in February of this year.

Kongsberg Automotive is a global provider of engineering, design, and manufacture for seat comfort, driver and motion control systems, fluid assemblies, and industrial driver interface products. Their product line targets the automotive, commercial vehicle and industrial markets. Kongsberg Automotive has 35 production facilities in 20 countries.

The KISS-D is a completely automated "in-line" selective soldering system, handling boards up to 18" x 24". It has a SMEMA pass through conveyor that features automatic conveyor width adjustment and a "crowder" to facilitate positive location of the board. The board is maintained stationary during the soldering process, preventing components from toppling over causing "unset" inter-metallic fillets. The KISS-D couples high throughput with precise process controls. The programmable features provide the tools to set all process parameters, including immersion depths, pre-heat dwells, travel distances and speeds, solder temperature and wave height. Once set, the system will repeat precisely.
